Random things

O.K. M.C. broke his arm while Stephen was subbing in as coach for Dimples' soccer team. Becks was getting her team pics done while Starr was "watching" M.C. Yeah, that worked out really well. Half-way through the game, Starr brings M.C. over while shaking the broken arm and telling Stephen "he says it hurts when he moves it!" Yep, she did that. Stephen finished off the game, set Becks up with Starr for her team pics and game, then went to the clinic. We have the disk with the x-rays on it, but I'm not sure how to get those pics on here yet. Poor boy! He has a "Supracondylar fracture". I haven't got a clue what the exactly means, just that he did in fact break his arm somewhere near the growth plate. Dr. Bryan wants to see him one week after putting on the green cast...lets hope his arm will heal correctly!
I was running in this race while all of the above was happening. Great Mother's day gift!! just kidding, that wasn't my Mother's day gift. I didn't get one...not until Monday anyway. I needed a new ironing board and cover, a new shower curtain rod, and puff's tissues for our noses. (our noses that seem to run non-stop!)

This pic is of my birthday that I just celebrated! Tickets to a concert coming up very soon. I wish "U 2" could go with us! but I think the best gift was my own set of scriptures. I've never had my own, I always used my mom's old set or Stephen's. Yay!!! now I have my own, can't wait to put marks in them!OK, I think I'm all caught up. minus Easter pics, hiking pics, bountiful baskets, young women's activities...y'all know what its like, impossible to put it all on here.

Finally!!

So, so sorry, he he, I've been really busy and haven't had a chance to do any of this. UGH! anyway, here are the random pics I have of M.C. for his b-day several weeks ago. Man, where the heck does the time go? He's now 4 and life just seems to get crazier and crazier! Enjoy these random pics!

It's "M.C.'s" Birthday today!!!

Wow! Where on earth have four years gone?!!! I can't believe my baby is now four. He'll even show you on his hand. He's so cute, I love that he's in our family. He has this laugh that is so grown up for him, or maybe I think it is. I love this laugh...too bad I haven't been able to catch it on video. I will post his little picture post just like I have with the others, I just don't have the time right now. Happy Birthday M.C.!!! Your momma and daddy love you soooo much!!!!

So yes, I've been missing...

Yeah, yeah. I've been missing from the blog for a while.
In January, we went go-karting at Speed Street in Layton. We took Becks and two of her friends, Megs and Court. It was totally awesome! I loved it. Stephen and I tried so hard to beat each other, he cheats by the way-he bumps you out of the way. I had so much fun and I know that Becks and her friends did too. They were fabulous girls and we all got to race twice. Becks and Court went with Courts Dad the next Monday and they all had an awesome time. Good times, good times, love them. I hope Becks had a great time with her friends, it was sort of a birthday party and not all the friends showed up. Man, we should plan better. Anyway, here are some pics of the girls and fun we had. Enjoy!

100th post. Wow

So I've been blogging long enough to get to 100 posts. That's cool. Man, I feel like I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to blog. So I think I'll use some bullets to help me round out our summer.
July
  • Ran Riverdale's 4th of July 5k-did great 33:16
  • S.i.l. got married
  • Had a couple of reunions to attend
  • Went to Bear Lake for 3 nights
  • On our way up to Bear Lake, a.c. compressor in durango went out. Cost: too darn much, but paid it anyway.
  • Celebrated Pioneer Day with my family. Sent kids to stay with cousins in Tooele for a few days. Yipee!!!
  • Celebrated 13 years of Marriage. Love my man!!
  • A s.i.l. delivered her 3rd baby. A girl. Finally, Yay!!!
  • Stephen was asked to, and did, baptize our neighbors son. I feel grateful that Stephen holds the priesthood honorably.

August

  • Girls camp for girl #1
  • taking the kids to a movie
  • talking the kids school clothes shopping
  • Primary activities, birthday parties, and activity days
  • Soccer. It has started. Tuesday evenings through Saturday mornings our lives will be Soccer. Plus schooll and church callings and activities.
  • Back to School night. For the Elementary kids, this was easy. Walk in. Find out who the teacher is. Meet the teacher, see the classroom. Walk out. For girl #1 though, we had to get her schedule, find her locker, try out her locker (about 30 times total while we were there), find the classrooms, meet the teachers, help her find the best ways to her classes from her locker and the other classes. It was about an hour and a half of us going through all this. Not bad though, it made her first day a breeze.
  • School started and got new vinyl flooring for kitchen. I already posted that.

Well that's a good summary of our life in the last two months, but now September has started. I don't see my life slowing down one bit. I am happy for my kids and my hubby. I love them all.

We have been blessed with a new little baby. My other s.i.l. had her little girl-finally-last week. She is super cute. I just love her. She has such pretty hair. My brother already has 2 boys and they wanted a girl so bad. In my family it seems boys out number the girls, well this newest little girl almost evened out the score, we are only down by 1. Someone else needs to take care of that though!

We had my 3 brothers celebrating a birthday, my m.i.l., and a nephew on Stephen's side. All within a week of each other. It seems like Christmas.

Hope everyone else is having an enjoyable September thus far, and that you all had a great summer.

So many blessings. So many exciting things happening. Wow, and I get to be part of it all. Love it! really I do.

Catsup! Boy #2 turned 3!

My little cutie of a baby is no longer a baby. He's not potty trained yet, but, I'm having a hard time letting go. I know. It's just that he's "the baby" of the family. I know. I will get over it. He turned 3 one week and one day ago. (I'm so far behind on blogging, it ridiculous!) My little cutie here loves, I mean LOVES catsup. When breakfast, lunch, or dinner are served, he asks for catsup. He doesn't always get it, but you get the drift. He is so funny. He hides in the weirdest places and thinks no one will find him. He has the cutest giggle, I have to try hard to not tickle him. I love his giggle. He shows on his fingers how old he is. (Some might think he joined up with a group or somethin') He loves to play with his toys, watch Dinosaur Train, and he is in general a happy boy. He is very good natured, but you can see his mischievousness working things out. He is a climber, and a hiker. He loves to kick, throw, push, or do anything else you can with sports balls. He will just sit down somewhere and sing to himself if he's bored or he'll ask for a movie or book. He has tender little heart and gets his feelings hurt easily. Never intentional, but if you have to tell him no to something he REALLY wants, he pouts. It is a cute, fake cry that he covers his face for. I love his pout but try not to let him get away with this too much. He asks to play on the computer, talk on the phone, or to go outside. His love of life and the outdoors really reflect his father. All of my children are like their father in that way, they love the outdoors and anything to do with it. I'm grateful for Boy #2 being in our family and our lives. He was a wonderful surprise! (we thought we were done, but I guess we weren't!)

Happy Birthday!

Today is girl #1's birthday. She has turned 12. My goodness but how fast time flies. I didn't have the awesome opportunity to stay home with her when she was born, and so I missed wonderful, yet simple things. I missed her first steps, crawling, words, teething (although, many might say that was a good thing), laughing, clapping, etc.
My mother-in-law saw her firsts for the 1st 6 months of girl #1's life. Then Stephen's sister (M) saw them for the next 6 months. She is the one who helped her learn to crawl. I was sad that I missed it. For the next 2 1/2 years Stephen's other sister (A) saw all girls #1's firsts. Sister A has a boy who is 1 month older than girl #1. They were like twins. Sister A deserves the biggest of all gold stars. These two children gave Sis A a workout. She earned her money. She also earned Girl #1's love. I'm thankful to these three women who've helped me with her and I'm glad they were there for us.
Girl #1 is now older, she loves to run, play soccer, be around animals, and play the piano. She has 3 siblings that I know she adores (98% of the time,) us-her parents, her grand-parents (which she has a special relationship with each one,) and she still has most of her great-grandparents whom she loves to be around.
She loves to hang out with her friends and cousin's, her siblings, sometimes her mom-if I'm not wearing my p.j.'s or my workout clothes, and loves to spend time with her Dad. She will babysit and do other housework to earn money. She has been learning about saving and spending it. She actually does very well with it.
We are ever-so grateful to the Lord for blessing our home with her personality, zest for life, love, and utter happiness that she brings to us. She is an amazing girl who works hard in life, school, sports, and to have good-uplifting-helpful friends. We love her!

Have you ever seen an outfit like this before? The jean jacket, skirt with leggings, bow in wavy hair, chuck taylors? Not on me, but maybe yourself several years back? Yeah, I know. It's coming back and hopefully will leave soon. But, doesn't she look so cute?

Stephen's birthday

He is older than me finally! There are a few months we are the same age, so I can't really call him an old man without saying I'm an old gal, but for now I can.
On the day of his birthday (it was during the middle of the week,) we went to dinner at a place called Taggerts. It is has it's own exit off the freeway in a town with the same name. Exit 108 on I-84. It is a great little place. I loved being there. It is a hometown kind of place, very friendly, even for kids. The food was delicious. Stephen had a Prime Rib Sandwich with swisscheese melted on it and onion rings, he did ask for Au ju sauce and dipped his sandwich in it. It was good!!! I had their shrimp dinner. It came with a nice salad and steak fries. I thought it would be small, but it was huge! There was a ton of shrimp on my plate. It tasted wonderful. We even shared a Mint Cheesecake. The waitress even put a candle on it, but didn't sing, which was nice. Oh, it was nice to go out with my hubby and celebrate his b-day. I just love him! He is such a loving and understanding man. I'm very lucky to have him be in my life.
We celebrated with his family on Friday night. I was a little sad that only one sister and her family showed up besides his parents, but I really don't want any of my kids to get sick (chicken pox) from a cousin. The others already had plans, so they missed out on terrific pizza (from Piccolo Pizza and Pasta,) veggies, and pop. One Delicious ice cream cake from the store and lots of fun with the family. His niece made a cake for him, we used that for him to blow out the candles. It was really cute. Two of our children gave him Lego sets, and of course he had to put them together that night. It was great. Boy #1 said he wanted to get his dad some Lego's for his birthday so the he(boy #2) could play with them. Good fun had here at home.
We will celebrate with my family on Sunday. It will be a lot of fun also. Stephen will get to grill the meat for his own b-day dinner. How fun is that! We both come from large families so we have to celebrate things separately. We will have a great time with everyone who will be there. I'm hoping that my sister will not have her baby by tomorrow, I can wait for Monday but she can't. She's READY! We'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.
